Next travel movement June & July 2018

This news is not that important other than that, This Sunday I'm heading back to Malta for couple of weeks. There will not be any Full Flight Videos and Flight Reports as I've mentioned travelling with Ryanair between Malta & Bournemouth, UK has been covered for quite sometime. While I'll be in Bournemouth, UK their will be some aviation photography depending on other airline movements other than that, just normal routine.

In other news other than travel movement. After I'm back from Malta Farnborough, UK will be starting Farnborough International Airshow 2018 so that means I will be attending the airshow like 2016. You can still book tickets through Farnborough International Airshow website.

London Southend, UK - new flights & base April 2019

London Southend, UK has announced Ryanair will operate twelve brand new new flights & based in London Southend Airport  in April 2019.

Ryanair is looking forward to operate 4th London airport in the history of UK aviation leaving London Heathrow, UK and London City, UK out due to either landing slots and short runway for a Boeing 737-800 to land in London City Airport. However, Ryanair is still under the red flag for the UK due to Brexit that's happening in March 2019 affecting UK's Aviation if the UK withdraws the European Union without a deal. During the Brexit Negotiation, Ryanair has applied a UK licence to continue Ryanair flights in the UK after Brexit. If it approves, Ryanair will continue operating the UK after Brexit & London Southend will make a go-ahead. If the UK Aviation rejects Ryanair's licence, then London Southend flights will be backfired & abandon the plan.

  • Alicante, Spain - Begins 2nd April 2019
  • Orio al Serio, Italy - Begins 3rd April 2019

Introducing Ryanair Sun

As we seen Ryanair as a low-cost Irish Airliner from Dublin, Ireland Ryanair announced in early 2018 to have a brand new charter airliner under Ryanair's brand from Warsaw Modlin, Poland. Although their is not much information about Ryanair Sun, the airline will have 4 Boeing 737-800 aircraft from Irish Ryanair with only one in service SP-RSA ex EI-FEE and the airliner's callsign MAGIC SUN & ICAO RYS (Ryanair Sun) the airline is designed exclusively to Poland for Polish leisure market to the sun of the Mediterranean or the Canary Islands. Ryanair Sun launched it's first flight in April 2018 it's too early to tell what future brings into Ryanair Sun for it's future. Because their is no lack of information of this charter airliner online I can't provide more details other than that, it's just Ryanair with Polish Registration.

Aviation in London City, UK 27th May 2018

Early evening at London City, UK with some of the regulars visiting the airport this time landing instead of departing. Compare to last year during the Autumn sunset early for Winter Time, May this year was a lot better for the quality of these photos during the Summer months. Most of these as I mentioned they turned out brilliant for touching down & short final on each airliners. Some I have on runway for departure. If your a passenger on London City Airport, you might expect a delay of departure if you're on the runway for 3-5 minutes due to busy air traffic departed London Heathrow Airport sometimes they flew around London City Area.

Anyway let's take a look at the photos. Some are not in full detail as I covered some airliners from my October 2017 trip I manage to explain a few.

BA CityFlyer G-LCYZ Embraer ERJ-190 new to Augsburg Airways in 2010 ex D-AEMG.

Flybe G-JEDP Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 delivered in 2004.
Alitalia Cityliner EI-RNE Embraer ERJ-190 delivered in 2012.

KLM Cityhopper PH-EZO Embraer ERJ-190 delivered in 2010.

VLM OO-VLI Fokker F50 to Rio Sil in 1993 ex PTS-LQ.
This one I will mention. Little history about VLM that the airline that started in 1992 when a year later it was normally a scheduled service from Antwerp, Belgium to London City, UK. Since then, the airline operated across Europe. However in 2016, VLM ceased operations for bankruptcy in 22nd of June of €6 million debt to the airline. After VLM ceased operations, Danish Air Transport took over. Interesting thing that in September 2016, VLM has made an agreement to have a new ownership of VLM to the Dutch SHS Aviation in The Netherlands till it give the all clear in October 2017, VLM re-started their operation with their same aircraft Fokker F50 and for the first time, a Airbus A320 transferred to Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium. VLM brought back their normal destinations across the continent and in recent news, two new destinations have added Ofstend, Belgium and Manchester, UK both starting 1st October 2018.

Sun Air of Scandinavia OY-NCO  Dornier Do-328JET new to Club Airways on 2004 ex N328HJ.
JOTA Aviation G-JOTR British Aerospace Avro EJ86 new to Delta Air Transport in 1996 ex OO-DJT.
JOTA Aviation was not expected to see in London City Airport. The reason why it was their, is that because it was operated by Irish low-cost carrier City Jet for no reason. Other than that, it's just operated by City Jet flight to Dublin, Ireland.

City Jet EI-RJU BAe Avro RJ85 new to Mesaba Airlines in 2000 ex N533XJ.
Not much to say about City Jet other the face it arrived from Florence, Italy as a Summer Seasonal service other than Dublin, Ireland. As I mentioned on my past blogs, Cit Jet will be ending their BAe or British Aerospace Avro RJ85 next year throughout 2020 as the new Sukhoi Superjet 100 replacement.

Lufthansa CityLine D-AECE Embraer ERJ-190 delivered in 2010.
I didn't cover Lufthansa in London City last year due to the sunset in October so I'll give you a quick information. Lufthansa CityLine is a German regional airliner for German domestic flights and international flights in regional airports & some main airports. In that case, Lufthansa CityLine operates London City from Frankfurt Main, Germany with their Embraer fleet.

Eastern Airways G-CIXV Embraer ERJ-170 new to Hong Kong Express in 2005 ex B-KXC.
What we have is an airline that don't operate London City Airport. Behind the story that Eastern Airways have send out their aircraft to operate for BA CityFlyer for some reason on fleet maintenance or something because I saw two of these Eastern Airways under BA CityFlyer operation so this was interesting to see a British regional aircraft in the London Area.

British Airways G-EUNA Airbus A318 delivered in 2009.
And finally off my list  have an Airbus A318 from British Airways. Behind the story about why it's London City's exclusive I already explained but I'll explain quick. In 2009, British Airways want to operate a long haul flight through Trans Atlantic on a smaller aircraft fully quipped with Businesses Class seats only by operating London City to New York JFK via Shannon, Ireland for refuel & clear US Customs & Immigration at US Border Pre-Clarence by US Customs & Border Protection in Shannon Airport. Outbound still arrive into Shannon but only for refuel without immigration entry only arriving the UK. The aircraft also attended in Farnborough, UK for Farnborough International Airshow 2012 before London  2012 Olympic Games with logos at the rear now completely removed. On radar, G-EUNA didn't operate New York JFK flight so istead it arrived from Glasgow, UK as flight BA9272. Their was two Airbus A318 in the fleet, only one now in service which is this aircraft.

Thanks for your patience on my recent trip to London City Airport blog I hope you'll enjoy it. Their are few more photos on my social media pages on Facebook and Flickr. This Summer will be super busy with trips that I will explain in upcoming posts so stay tune for that.
