Top 5 shots for 2014

I been planning to make my best shots from last year I been busy with non-plane spotting related. Here is my top 5 shots for 2014 & reason why it's my favorite.

5: Monarch on final! Before I went to visiting Republic of Ireland I visited Dublin Airport website that few Monarchs are coming even though British airlines to Ireland are primary from Dublin such as British Airways from London Heathrow, UK, Flybe from various UK airports and Thomson Airways from Dublin to outside the UK. Inside Monarch Boeing 757-200 G-MONJ was Welsh Rugby Players on final in Dublin, Ireland runway 28 from Cardiff, UK taken 7th January 2014. The sad thing about Monarch is they retired all Boeing 757 fleet.

4: Almost touched down! I always wanted to take a photo of a Boeing 777 if it's a 200 or 300 series but my main was 300. When I was in Malta I founded a good spotting location to aircraft touching down runway 31. I came this close with Boeing 777 with smoke touching down but instead only couple of meters in the air before touchdown... A6-EMX Boeing 777-300 arrived in Malta from Dubai, UAE via Larnaca, Cyprus taken 6th January 2014.

3: In loving memory of KLM MD-11. When I heard KLM retires all McDonnell Douglas MD-11 I wan't to visit The Netherlands & take some decent shots I can instead I took this one on top of the bridge. KLM was the only airline in Europe & the hole world operated MD-11 while all turned into Freight. It's a shame KLM retires all of MD-11 most are not that old like PH-KCK delivered in April 1997 4 months before Boeing bought McDonnell Douglas. The pic PH-KCD was new to KLM in 1994 taken 22nd July 2014.

2: I spy Alitalia! When I was on my way to Malta I spotted an aircraft in French Airspace coming closer it was Alitalia EI-DTE Airbus A320-200 brought to Alitalia in May 2009. It was taken in 26th June 2014.

1: Red Arrows in the sky! 5th June 2014 was D-day 70th Anniversary in South of England and France these lovely Red Arrows fly around Portsmouth, UK with lovely smoke of the Union Jack making loving memory for soldiers who died & survive World War 2. This would have been the final event for the survivors because they are in very old age roughly in their 80's for example.

When 2015 finishes I will make my top 10 or 5 shots for this year. Thank you for looking at my blog.
