As we all know the new Boeing 737 MAX has been grounded for some time after the crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 in March this year grounding all of the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft worldwide. As of March 2019, Boeing has built 393 Boeing 737 MAX with 8, 9, & 200 series either grounded and being postponed at Everett, USA. I won't go into details on what we've learnt the issues of these Boeing 737 MAX aircraft so instead I like to explain what is going on on selected airliners as of today before they go back into the sky.
Air China
Air China is seeking compensation from Boeing for the main reason is the delay of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 while it's still being grounded.
Ryanair
Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair was suppose to launch their Boeing 737 MAX 200 early this year with few of these 737 MAX already been built currently postponds in Everett, USA Ryanair's CEO is also facing similar story to Air China's compensation to Boeing for the long delay of Ryanair's order for the Boeing 737 MAX 200. Ryanair hopes these 737 MAX will arrive to Ryanair for the Winter 2019/2020 period this October replacing older Boeing 737NG aircraft.
FlyDubai
Low-cost carrier from Dubai, United Arab Emirates also seeks compensation to Boeing for the same reasons of delays. If the delays goes even further from FlyDubai, it might possibly order new planes from Airbus.
Norwegian Air
After the launch of Norwegian's low-cost carrier, Norwegian Air has been a success of flights crossing to the Atlantic from UK, Ireland, the Scandinavian to North America in the US & Canada non-stop. As of present their are no flights to the US from Dublin, Ireland with Norwegian's Boeing 737 MAX instead using 737NG as they can handle flight time 6-7 hours. Because of the 737 MAX being grounded, their destinations on long haul routes are leased by carious charter airliners due to fleet shortage on selected destinations of their Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
Southwest Airlines
One of America's biggest low-cost carriers is seeking for compensation. Rumors on various social media sites Southwest Airlines could be seeking Airbus A220 encase of any crisis for the future of the Boeing 737 MAX.
American Airlines
Pretty much the same for Air China, American Airlines is seeking compensation to Boeing for grounding their Boeing 737 MAX.
Garuda
Indonesian flagship carrier asked to cancel their orders for the Boeing 737 MAX costing $5 billion USD because of the passengers lost their trust on the Boeing 737 MAX.
TUI
Depending where you live in Europe, TUI has Boeing 737 MAX in Belgium and the UK. As TUIfly Belgium grounds their Boeing 737 MAX, TUI Airways from UK has been hitting hard with their Boeing 737 MAX grounded and Brexit for the Summer Holidays with no certain when it will be back in UK skies. As TUIfly Belguim sends out their Boeng 737NG & Embraer's as normal, TUI Airways sends out various fleets of Boeing 737NG, Boeing 767-300, Boeing 757-200 and Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Some destinations for TUI Airways such as Malta, Cyprus, Egypt and Turkey uses Boeing 737 MAX now using either 737NG, 757 and 787 Dreamliners. Rumors online stated that the Boeing 737 MAX could be back in the air July this year with Southwest Airlines and United Airlines will remain grounded until August 2019 with more flights for that specific aircraft could be cancelled. As I've mentioned Ryanair could introduce their Boeing 737 MAX in October if the FAA approves it & unkown for other European airliners when or if their remaining 737 MAX could be back in the European skies once again.
