Aviation in London Gatwick, UK 5th September 2018 - South Terminal

The following photos you'll see in London Gatwick, UK South Terminal is taken at the 5th September after being half way across the globe to Asia. I should have done this first but because I got exited about doing blogs for Asia that will come first than this. So anyway, London Gatwick! although I see usual visitors & locals however their is one I never seen which will include this blog.

Ryanair EI-DHW Boeing 737-800 delivered in 2005.
During the evening, Ryanair operates their last trip of the day to Dublin, Ireland which this flight arrived from is. Because passengers don't use the air bridge, all passengers on Ryanair flights from Cork, Dublin and Shannon transport by bus to domestic arrivals same for Aer Lingus flights. The only other international flight for Ryanair in London Gatwick is Alicante, Spain.

Norwegian Air International EI-FYF Boeing 737 MAX 8 delivered in 2017.
What we have here, is the brand new Boeing 737 version of the 737 Family. This is the new Boeing 737 MAX 8 by Norwegian Air International from Ireland operating UK flights. Norwegian Air International can also operate from the UK, Sweden, Norway and Ireland to the United States non-stop in New York which Air Canada is doing now from London Heathrow, UK. As for low-cost Norwegian is the first Boeing 737 MAX I ever saw in person. Primera Air recent airline went cease operations had orders now cancelled. And Ryanair will have theirs MAX 200 soon.

ItAli Airlines I-DAVA McDonnell Douglas MD-82 new to ATI in 1986.
Of course we come to this mystery McDonnell Douglas MD-82. For years I've seen this parked by North Terminal for storage with the engines I saw was still intact after it's final flight in 2010. Since then it's now become special training for fire & rescue, policing for terrorism and probably for ground crew training. During it's flying days it was registered I-DAVA delivered to ATI - Trasporti Italiani in February 1986 subsidiary to Alitalia. Since then over the years with Alitalia after ATI ceased operations, moved to Alitalia in 1994 till 2004 moved to Eurofly and during it's mid though later years with ItAli Airlines from 2005 - 20110 before ceased operations in 2011, the aircraft landed in London Gatwick impounded & transoform into training exercise. If you're flights in South Terminal, this is the best way to get a good shot of the old MD-82.

Aer Lingus EI-DEK Airbus A320 delivered in 2003 taken 5th September 2018.
Also similar to Ryanair, Aer Lingus is also one of the last flights for the day to Dublin, Ireland primary then their is also another Aer Lingus flight to Knock, Ireland. Aer Lingus only uses Airbus A320 into London Gatwick compare to London Heathrow uses mix of A320 and A321.

PrivatAir D-AWWB Boeing 737-700 delivered as HB-IIQ in 1999.
I don't know much about this one as seen from the gate as a normal operating flight. This is a private aircraft sometimes when looked online this was operated by Lufthansa from 2002 - 2009, back to private, operated by Gulf Air in 2011 for a year and finally back to private. So I'm not sure by the time this was taken could be either operated by British Airways or Norwegian Air or maybe a VIP visit.
Thomas Cook Airlines G-TCVA Airbus A321 new to Monarch 2013 ex G-ZABD taken 5th September 2018.
Monarch or Thomas Cook? So after Monarch ceased operations last year, some of their ex Monarch aircraft have moved on to different countries while some are with Thomas Cook Airlines in Monarch hybrid livery with the logo on the Monarch fuselage and painted black backish background with Thomas Cook symbol. Their are a few ex Monarch planes still in Monarch livery with Thomas Cook Airlines, unfortunately this was not the best when I took this between my flight & a wall.

China Airlines B-18919 Airbus A350-900 delivered in 2018.
And finally we come to China Airlines my main flight to Taipei, Republic of China as you can see on my Flight Report and Full Flight video on YouTube I've made. I won't explain more about China Airlines as I've already covered it.

And that is London Gatwick blog for 5th September and my last visit to a major airport this year. I have returned pn 15th September but no spotting photos. I'll be back again in 2019.
