Another update other the past month about Istanbul Atatürk and the New Istanbul Airport, Turkey. If you re-call my New Year blog for Malta International Airport's new flights for this year and information for Istanbul's future which is the new airport. First it was mean't to be closed for all flights in Istanbul Atatürk transfer to the new airport if the airport want's a new era of local & foreign airliners. However only one airliner will be operating the new airport service the Istanbul area.

Turkish Airlines will only be the main Turkish airliner to operate the new airport some have already started after the New Year. It has finally confirmed by Turkish Airlines all of it's remaining flights in Istanbul Atatürk will be transferred to the new airport starting 3rd March 2019 including Turkish Airlines Cargo. If you want to see Turkish Airlines in Atatürk for civil & cargo use, you might need to get your skates on before moving.

All other airlines & freighters both Turkish and foreign will continue serving Istanbul Atatürk so theirs no need to worry for passengers transferring. The new Istanbul's code for IATA is ISL & ICAO LTFM while Istanbul Atatürk code will remain the same IST and LTBA.
